Church School
We have 2 classes, K-4th grade and 5th-8th grade, that meet during the 10:00 a.m. worship service in May and September and during the 11:15 a.m. worship service October through April.
Seasons of the Spirit is our curriculum. It supports faith communities and families in their life together by exploring meaning and mystery in the Bible, it is grounded in thoughtful theology, and it empowers children and youth to be transformed in Christ while nurturing their imaginative spirit. Each Sunday we engage the biblical text through art or drama, explore our faith traditions and encourage a connection to our wider community.
Younger children have a weekly worship ritual and then a chance to be creative. Older children and youth are challenged by active explorations of the Bible; they develop Bible skills and work on projects that help them connect with issues of justice and fairness.
We meet for 1 hour each Sunday and encourage parents to bring their children on a regular basis.
Nursery
Care is offered during service in our Nursery in the main building. Our nursery is an opportunity for the youngest to play, sing songs and have fun in a caring environment. Come see our desert mural painted by the talented members of our congregation led by Ginny Wing.
Vacation Church School
A fun inter-generational event that is open to the community. We have had 3 successful events held the first week of June in the early evenings. Who can forget Moses in Crocodile Dock in 2009 or the Baobab Tree in Africa in 2010 or Chef Basil and Scraps the raccoon at the Shake It Up Café in 2011. Lots of volunteer opportunities available so please look for the announcements.
